Homeowners, if you want to hang a swing for your children on a branch please don’t wrap a rope around the entire circumference of the branch. This will choke the nutrients going through the branch and eventually kill it. If you must attach a swing, please use lag bolts and screw them securely into the branch and attach a chain to the lag bolt. This will also wound the tree, but it is much less likely to kill the branch as opposed to wrapping a roper chain all the way around the circumference of a limb and choking it out
